Question types 101

Empower your surveys with diverse questioning options

When creating your Pulse, you have a variety of question types to choose from, each serving a unique purpose:

  1. Exclusive choice: Allow respondents to select only one answer from the provided options.

  2. Multiple choice: Enable respondents to choose multiple answers. You can set the minimum and maximum number of choices they can select.

  3. Yes/No: Simplify responses by providing "yes" or "no" options for questions that warrant such binary answers.

  4. Slider: Use sliders for questions with numerical answers or those that require responses on a scale. Customize minimum and maximum values as well as interval size, specifying the unit for intervals if necessary (e.g., dollars, pounds, inches).

  5. Ranking choice: Prompt respondents to rank provided answers in order of preference. By default, respondents will be prompted to drag and drop options to order them from top to bottom.

  6. Image choice: Enhance engagement with exclusive choice questions featuring images. Upload up to six images for respondents to choose from.

  7. Branching: Create different paths for respondents based on their answer to the first question. With branching, you can create up to three routes, allowing for a maximum of seven questions in a branched Pulse.

  8. Open-ended (Free Text): use the free text option to allow respondents to provide their own answers without predefined options.

Tip: User comments can be added to all question types, excluding Open-ended questions. These comments act as a helpful tool for respondents to offer further explanation on their answers.

Note: Feel free to use open-ended questions or comments without any worries. Our advanced AI analysis will efficiently sort through all the responses for you and provide a comprehensive report!
